Hi,
It’s me, Lena. I thought the best way to let you know about me and my music would be by telling you...myself :)
I’m a singer/songwriter from outside of Boston, MA, currently living in Nashville, TN. I’m eighteen years old, and have been singing since before I can remember. Music’s always been important to me, and my family’s pretty musical as well. I play and write on both piano and guitar, although guitar is my focus at the moment. I play a Breedlove acoustic, affectionately known as Toby. I started writing songs when I was really young, but I began to take it seriously toward the end of my freshman year. Some combination of growing up and heartbreak must have done the trick!
Anyway, I performed my first original song by myself at my school talent show sophomore year, and came away with the first place title. Since then I’ve been writing and playing at every opportunity I’ve come across. I mostly play coffee shops and open mics around the Boston Area, and I’ve been lucky enough to play at the Exposure Music Festival in Worcester, MA, and the El Rey Theater in LA. I also participated in the singer/songwriter track of Grammy Camp, a ten day program through the Grammy Foundation to support high-school students who are interested in careers in the music industry.
Most of my writing is inspired by the relationships I’m in and the relationships I have been in. I have a lot of faith in what could be and what could have been, and a lot of my music comes from those ideas. I think as a songwriter I’m one of the luckiest girls in the world: I get to tell the boys I like that I like them, or call the boys who hurt my feelings jerks, and get away with it! I’m also absolutely fascinated by love and the crazy, beautiful things it makes people do.
At the moment I’m just working on making music that lets me express myself and sharing it with those around me. I love writing and performing and I know that this is just the beginning for me. Thank you to everyone who visits my page and supports my music, you are so wonderful!
